Lethe · a clean start

Start over without losing your account

Lethe makes Argoforge look as if you had just connected. Your account, plan and key stay. What Argoforge learned about you and what it installed are deleted. Nothing is deleted until you see the list and confirm it.

Step by step

How it works

One button, a list of what goes and what stays, and one confirmation.

The app on your Macsees your files
Argoforge serverruns no model
The app on your Mac1

You open Lethe's page

The app asks the server what a reset would delete there.

→ “what would you remove?”
Argoforge server2

The server counts

It counts your projects, findings and accepted rules. Nothing is deleted yet.

The app on your Mac3

You read the list and confirm

The page shows what goes on the server and on this Mac, and what stays. You press “Reset everything”; a warning repeats the list and asks once more.

→ your “yes”

The server starts your brain anew

It stops the work running on your brain, builds a new one with today's rules beside it and swaps it in at once; the old one is deleted in the background. A message that arrives meanwhile waits and goes to the new brain.

The Mac cleans up

Only after the server is done. Argoforge mode, the desktop tree and voice switch off. Argoforge's agents, skills and project bindings (brief and pick) leave your projects; the project's notes — START.md and map.md in the hidden .argoforge/brain — stay. Its local data is deleted; the connection stays. If a step fails, the app keeps going and lists what failed — press reset again to finish.

Your data

What stays on your Mac and what leaves it

Stays on your Mac

  • Your project folders and your own files stay. START.md and map.md stay in .argoforge/brain, hidden from git, as they were
  • The connection stays: server address, account key, the Argoforge switch, and the restore script ~/.argoforge/restore.sh
  • Access cards and the encryption key in the Keychain stay
  • Argoforge's hook entries in Claude Code settings stay; only the voice entry goes. To remove them all, use “Remove Argoforge…”

Leaves your Mac

  • Only your “yes” goes to the server
  • Your brain is deleted on the server: projects, findings, accepted rules and memory, your settings (models, how the tree looks, answer style)
  • Your turn measurements (Kairos and the mode comparison) are deleted too, as after the first connection
  • Your account, plan and key stay, and so does the tree's private link
  • No backups are made — neither on the server nor on the Mac

Where AI is used

Nowhere. Lethe only counts and deletes.

Rules

The rules it follows

Only with your “yes”

Without an explicit confirmation the server refuses to reset. The “yes” holds only for the list you saw in the last 15 minutes; if it is older, the page shows the list again and asks once more.

A reset, not an uninstall

Argoforge stays installed and connected. To remove it completely, use “Remove Argoforge…”.

Your files are safe

Only what Argoforge put into a project goes: its agents and skills (names start with argoforge-) and the project's binding in .argoforge (its notes START.md and map.md stay).

No undo

Nothing is backed up. Read the list before you confirm.

Voice settings go too

Voice and dictation settings, a saved OpenAI key and the downloaded edge-tts voice are deleted with the rest of the local data, as are the log of what was sent and temporary files. The list before the reset names them.

Fresh rules

The new brain gets today's rule set, not the rules you had.

How to use

How to work with it

  1. 1

Use it for a clean test

Reset, add a project again and see what Argoforge does from zero.

  2. 2

    Re-add your projects

After a reset the project list is empty. The folders themselves stay where they were.

  3. 3

    Re-enter the OpenAI key

If Hermes used OpenAI, enter the key again on its page.

The other modules

Each module does one job. Together they make Argoforge.
