Hestia is the heart of Argoforge. Instead of one long instructions file, each message gets only the rules, memory and project traps that fit it. In the background it also keeps your brain on the server tidy.
Step by step
It runs on every message while Argoforge is switched on in the app.
The app cleans it first: code becomes [code], keys, passwords and tokens become [secret], paths and file names become [path] and [file].
Rules and memory records whose trigger word starts a word in your message (a stem takes its endings, but never fires inside another word) and that this session has not had yet. In an added project, also a reminder to read its START.md with up to three trap headlines.
The text is added next to your message. Hestia does not change your files, CLAUDE.md or settings.
The app tells the server that a session has started. At most once every 20 hours it also checks your access keys, right on your Mac.
At the session start the server does the chores that are due: clears old logs and session statistics (every 20 hours) and checks how Nexus's settings perform (every 3 hours).
Your data
Hestia itself uses none: picking rules is a plain word match on the server. The only model is your Claude, which reads the result.
Rules
A rule or memory record is not repeated within a session. It comes again only if its text changed or after Claude Code compacts the conversation — outside a project too — and in an added project also after 30 messages.
Up to 2,400 characters of rules and 800 of memory per message. What does not fit can come with a later message that matches it.
Hestia only adds text next to your message; it never edits your files or settings.
If the server does not answer within 2.5 seconds, Claude Code simply works without the additions. No error is shown.
Outside the folders you added in the app, only rules and memory come. The project parts need an added project.
A helper agent (subagent) that Claude Code starts does not see the session's rules. So the app puts your always-on rules — and, in an added project, its own rules — in front of the helper's task. Only the session and project numbers go to the server; the task text stays on your Mac.
How to use
Hestia runs whenever Argoforge is on; there is no separate switch.
Add a “## Traps” or “## Ловушки” section to the project's START.md (.argoforge/brain/START.md), one bullet per trap. The first three headlines reach your Claude once per session.
The app's language is set on the Hestia page. The text Argoforge adds to your messages follows it too.
The server could not prepare a message, or stayed silent through the session. Hover the dot for the reason, then check the server connection in the menu.
Settings → Logs shows every request exactly as it was sent.
The Models card shows two roles in v2: “Mnemosyne · rule draft” — the model your Claude on this Mac runs with when Mnemosyne decides findings for you — and “Legion · pick” (Opus by default), the model that describes a project and picks its team. The other roles return when the features that use them do.
